About these terms

These terms apply when you use vaterrahouse.com and the online services linked from it. The website is operated by VATERRA HOUSE HOSPITALITY NIGERIA LIMITED, company number RC 9211739, trading as VATERRA House Lagos. Our address is Eleganza Gardens Estate, opposite VGC, Lekki-Epe Expressway, Lagos, Nigeria.

By using the website, you agree to these terms. If you make a reservation, the booking confirmation, selected rate conditions and any additional terms shown before confirmation also apply. If there is a conflict, the booking confirmation and rate conditions govern the reservation, subject to rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Website information

We take reasonable care to keep website information accurate. Availability, rates, photographs, facilities and services may change. A reservation is not complete until the booking process finishes and a valid confirmation is issued. Contact reservations if information is unclear or materially affects your decision.

Bookings and the external booking portal

Book Your Stay and related buttons may open an external booking portal. The portal may be operated by a service provider and may have its own privacy and technical terms. VATERRA HOUSE HOSPITALITY NIGERIA LIMITED remains the accommodation provider once it issues or accepts a valid reservation confirmation.

You are responsible for checking the guest names, dates, room category, occupancy, price, taxes, charges, cancellation terms and payment conditions before confirming a reservation. Contact us promptly if a confirmation contains an error.

Rates, taxes and payment

Rates are subject to availability and the conditions displayed or confirmed for the selected booking. The final price must identify applicable taxes and charges before confirmation. Where separately applied, the current treatment is 5% HORCT, 7.5% VAT and 10% service charge. Payment may be accepted by card, bank transfer or cash, subject to the method and timing confirmed for the reservation.

We may correct an obvious pricing or system error before accepting a booking. If an error is identified after payment, we will contact you and provide the options required by applicable law.

Cancellation and no show

Unless different conditions are disclosed with the selected rate, cancellation is free up to 24 hours before arrival. A cancellation within 24 hours of arrival, or a no-show, may incur the first-night charge. Promotional or non-refundable rates follow the written conditions shown before confirmation.

Any cancellation charge must be reasonable and will be applied subject to the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2018 and other applicable law. Where the law requires a refund or a different remedy, the legal requirement will apply.

Arrival, departure and occupancy

Check-in is from 2:00 pm and check-out is by 12:00 noon. Early check-in and late check-out are subject to availability and may attract an additional charge. Each room must be occupied only within its confirmed occupancy limit. Occupancy, bed configuration and room-size information must not be inferred where it has not been published or confirmed.

Children

Children under six may stay free when sharing the existing bed. Guests aged six and above are treated as additional guests. Room occupancy limits and any rate-specific conditions still apply. An adult must make the reservation and remain responsible for every child included in the stay.

Property policies

  • Guest rooms are non-smoking. Smoking is permitted only in designated outdoor areas.
  • Pets are not allowed.
  • Guests must respect the property, staff, other guests and estate rules and must not engage in unlawful, dangerous, disruptive or abusive conduct.
  • The hotel may refuse entry or require a guest to leave where reasonably necessary for safety, security, legal compliance or serious breach of applicable terms, subject to applicable law.

Confirmed facilities and exclusions

Breakfast, guest Wi-Fi and parking are available. The hotel does not currently provide a spa, swimming pool, hot tub, fitness centre, airport shuttle, meeting rooms or a business centre. Room amenities confirmed for publication are air conditioning, guest Wi-Fi, a coffee maker and a minibar. Availability or inclusion may depend on the selected rate or service conditions.

Acceptable website use

You must not:

  • use the website unlawfully or fraudulently;
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to the website, accounts, servers or data;
  • introduce malicious code, overload the service or interfere with another user;
  • scrape, copy or reuse website content at scale without permission; or
  • submit false, misleading, abusive or unauthorised information through a form or booking process.

Intellectual property

The website design, text, branding, logos, photographs and other content are owned by or licensed to VATERRA HOUSE HOSPITALITY NIGERIA LIMITED unless stated otherwise. You may view and print reasonable extracts for personal, non-commercial use. No other copying, modification, distribution or commercial use is permitted without written permission.

External services and links

Links to booking, maps, social media and other external services are provided for convenience. We do not control their availability, security, content or privacy practices. Their own terms apply when you use them.

Availability and liability

We may suspend or change the website for maintenance, security, legal or operational reasons. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access. To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for loss caused solely by an external service, device, network or event beyond our reasonable control.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, or removes any consumer right or remedy under the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2018 or other applicable law.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The courts of competent jurisdiction in Nigeria may hear a dispute, without limiting any mandatory consumer or data-protection right. We encourage you to contact us first so that we can try to resolve the matter promptly.
